Definitions of snowboard slang, freestyle, and board construction.

C-rail search for term

A rail with a bend to it where it looks like a C.

Camber search for term

The amount of space beneath the center of a snowboard when it lays on a flat surface and its weight rests on the tip and tail.

Carbon Fiber Material search for term

A fiber woven material produced from the mineral carbon. To stiffen and strengthen a board with a minimum of added weighted.

carve search for term

To turn with very little skidding. A pure carve is identifiable with a thin clean line in the snow where the tip and tail followed the same path.

Cat-Track search for term

A run going across to another run, or the track a groomer leaves.

Chatter search for term

Vibration of the snowboard as a result of too much pressure build up; caused from legs too stiff, center of mass not over the board, and going too fast.

Coping search for term

A rounded lip at the top of a ramp, obstacle, or half pipe - usually made of metal, cement, or PVC pipe.

Corduroy search for term

A term to describe the tracks left by a snow cat grooming a trail. Corduroy is usually great for laying out clean turns.

Corkscrew 540 search for term

Sideways backside 540, also called a barrel roll.

Crud search for term

This is a type of snow with uneven surface and lumps of soft powder-like snow and slippery patches.
