Definitions of snowboard slang, freestyle, and board construction.

Tail search for term

The rear of the snowboard located behind the back foot.

Tail bonk search for term

To hit an object with the tail of the snowboard.

Tail grab search for term

The rear hand grabs the tail of the snowboard.

Tail poke search for term

Any maneuver where you bone your rear leg and "poke" the tail of the snowboard in a direction away from your body usually while grabbing.

Taipan air search for term

The front hand reaches behind the front foot and grabs the toe edge between the bindings. The front knee is then bent to touch the board tuck knee style.

Toe edge search for term

The edge of the snowboard where your toes sit.

Toeside turn search for term

A turn made on the toeside edge.

Torsional flex search for term

The difference in edge angle of the tip and tail of the snowboard.

Transition (tranny) search for term

The radial curved section of a halfpipe wall between the flat bottom and the vertical. A snowboarder pumps and rides the transition to gain speed, catch air, and land.

Traverse search for term

To ride perpendicular to the fall line. Halfpipe rider traverses from wall to wall in the halfpipe.

Twin tip search for term

A type of snowboard designed for freestyle snowboarding. It has an identical tip and tail so that the board may be ridden similarly in both directions.
